At the core of my photographic practice are societal concerns that emphasize cultural, traditional, and gender issues. Women are often presented as a domestic object, a sex toy, and/or a desirable prize within curso de e commerce e marketing digital and the media. I draw creative stimulus and ethical consternation from these highly charged gender roles and the feminine ideal that is present in contemporary advertising. I incorporate abstract forms and distortions with experimental color and light to emphasize the distress and pressure put on women by society. I am primarily appropriating text and images from the mass media of popular culture. I am combining resources from magazines, television, web content, and feminist art. I chose to use these sources and materials to play with the idea of the influence of popular culture, the media, and society. I wanted to appropriate images and text that were both recognizable to the public as well as relatable to female viewers.
